Obsolete Notes
Obsolete U.S. notes are non Federal notes issued between 1782 and 1866 that has no cash value and can not be redeemed any more. for the purpose of this definition, Confederate notes are not included in this list but rather listed separately.
Even though these notes are devalued, they are still highly collectible for their appeal and historic importance, they could be a great value for their old age and there are many notes to be explored , a good reference on the subject is the 4 Haxby Catalog set by Krause Publications which is now out of print, another more affordable and easily attainable set would be the Whitman Encyclopedia of obsolete paper money by Q. David Bowers.
